Story telling with a Memphis groove is how Lloyd Jones describes his soulful and intelligent fusion of funk, blues and r&b. After honing his skills with the likes of Charlie Musselwhite, Robert Cray, Dr. John, Bonnie Raitt and a host of other music legends, the guitarist formed the Lloyd Jones Struggle in 1985 as a vehicle for his prolific songwriting. They have since become a mainstay on the West Coast circuit.
Love Gotcha presents Lloyd's writing at its trenchant best - check out the rueful "Treat Me Like the Dog I Am" and "Young Girls," his tribute to the charms of the mature woman. Lloyd's tasty guitar work throughout is complemented by some of the funkiest horn-rhythm-organ arrangements around.
